About this Presentation:

Defined in ancient Greek as the “guides of souls”, psychopomps have traditionally bridged the physical and non-physical worlds. Stemming from a similar root, psychology can be defined as the “study of the soul”, serving to bridge conscious and unconscious awareness. In an age marked by increased anxiety and depression, tensions and uncertainties, this presentation explores the roles and characteristics of these guides through the dark that can offer a sense of comfort and hope, direction and empowerment. An introduction to a wide range of cross-cultural psychopomps and their particular areas of focus and expertise will be followed by a guided meditation for participants to experience these energies and find their own personal resonances to the psychopomps, strengthening an inner connection to strength and resilience.
