Meeting the Wolf Mother introduces Angrboða, a giantess in Norse mythology. She is most famous for her three children Hel, Fenrir, and Jormungandr. She is the Mother of Wolves (including werewolves) as well as a powerful seeress and sorceress embodying the Dark Mother archetype. Taking information from historical, mythological, and folkloric sources, students will be introduced to the different aspects of this obscure figure, the knowledge she offers, and how to form a relationship with her.

About the Presenter:

Emily Lilly (they/them) is an artist and a practicing seiðkona. Growing up on a farm in New Hampshire, Emily has spent their entire life interacting with the spirit realm. They began their study of magic at age 15 and devoted themselves to the path of their ancestors at age 18. They have been studying and practicing seiðr for three years through lived experience and rigorous academic study. Day-to-day, Emily can be found in their studio creating ritually-crafted artwork from ethically sourced animal remains for their business ULVWITCH.
